       about

I am an experienced broadcaster, producer and voiceover artist.  Much of my professional working life has been to make programmes and features for the BBC, where I trained.

My work spans audio and video production, much of it assembled in my broadcast-quality studio.  I am a regular producer for BBC Radio Wales' Religious Programmes department.

When not working on media projects, I am a church musician.  I am Director of Music at a busy parish church in Wiltshire.

Radio was my childhood passion. I began my broadcasting career as a teenager, working on hospital and local radio in Hampshire, before completing a music degree at Durham University. I then trained at the BBC as a Studio Manager, subsequently working on a variety of programmes at the BBC World Service, the Radiophonic Workshop, and the BBC Religious Programmes Department where I produced outside broadcast acts of worship including “Sunday Worship” and “Choral Evensong”.

Since then I have developed a successful freelance career as a broadcaster and producer. For many years I narrated and produced a wide range of radio packages and programmes, in particular for BBC Radio Wales and programmes on BBC Radio Four such as “You & Yours”. I also worked as a trainer for the BBC's Upfront course for new employees, and television credits for the BBC include news reporting for "Wales Today" and work as a music adviser for “Songs of Praise”.

Beyond the BBC, I have lectured in radio news production for a journalism degree course in Lancashire, and worked for the Royal School of Church Music in various roles, including tutoring courses, managing volunteers and producing a range of training and promotional videos and podcasts.  I have also run media training courses for the NHS, tourist organisations and educational establishments.

I am still a regular producer of “Celebration”, BBC Radio Wales' Sunday morning act of worship and also 'All Things Considered'.  I recently produced broadcasts of the Daily Service on BBC Radio 4.  On the video front I have produced and directed a number of choral recordings including training material for the Royal School of Church Music, as well as other features for choirs, churches and commercial organisations.
